My client requested a very unique adventure for her birthday D&D 5e one-shot: Feywild romp plus Legally Blonde court drama with a healthy splash of Die Hard action. Gears turning, I researched possible modules before settling on running an extensively modified version of “The Wrath of the River King” by Ben McFarland and Wolfgang Baur. Knowing my client well, did I also crank up the Romantasy dial on this D&D experience just for her? You know it. Did her character break the curse on her childhood best friend long-corrupted by a hag, and ride off with him into the sunset? Of course she did. My client and her friends loved every minute of it. (Costumes not included.)
