It’s not every day that a Dungeon Master gets to run D&D for clients in a historical castle in the Scottish countryside. Needless to say, it was my absolute pleasure to design a D&D 5e experience for 11 guests staying at the castle for a special birthday celebration. 8 hours of D&D with two groups of players embarking on a custom-written, homebrew adventure of my own design, set in the actual castle’s grounds and using historical maps to draw my combat battlemaps…. By the end of the stay, my clients had heroically defended the castle from an undead invasion, cleansed the surrounding lands of evil, and made magical memories to last a lifetime.
